Congratulations to Shelby Group Chairman Phil Taylor for completing a gruelling personal challenge. Phil was part of a team that undertook the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 21st May. He climbed the three highest peaks in Yorkshire (Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough) and managed to complete this challenging 24-mile circuit in just over 10 hours. The total day’s climb was around 5,200 feet.
Phil said:
To say this walk was gruelling is putting it mildly! My knees have never experienced pain like it. I had to walk the last three miles backwards to counteract the excruciating pain! The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a challenge, however, I have always wanted to undertake and I am so proud to have crossed this off my bucket list. Well done to all of the members of our team for their amazing achievement and thank you all for your support – quite literally – on the day!
