The Youth Hub Fleetwood is now officially open! Every project is special, but this has proved an extra special scheme for the Shelby team. From the beach hut themed breakout rooms to the vivid decor, the space has been expertly designed to provide a welcoming and safe space to youngsters from across the town.
Shelby provided project management, quantity surveying and principal designer services on the scheme, working closely with charitable group Fleetwood Trust, architect’s Mason Gillibrand Architects and main contractor’s Krol Corlett Group. Shelby director Phil Taylor said: “It has been a real privilege and joy to work alongside such a dedicated team over the past 20 weeks to provide this fantastic community facility within the former Fleetwood Hospital.
“We have worked on the scheme from when it was just a glimmer of an idea. This amazing amenity has only been made possible thanks to countless hours of work by Fleetwood Trust and the consultant and contractor team to make this dream a reality.”
The Youth Hub is being run by Fleetwood Town Community Trust. Wyre Council’s Deputy Mayor Steve Nicholls was among delegates who attended the Youth Hub’s official opening. He said: “This facility is so impressive. They should copy this model in every town and city across the country.”
Work now turns to the redevelopment of the next phase of The Hub Fleetwood so watch this space!
